Common questions

Can I keep Google Calendar and Drive while using MailSprout for email?+
Yes. Google sells Calendar, Drive, Docs, and Meet without an attached email plan; it's called Google Workspace Individual and Google One. You can also keep a personal Google account for those tools and run business email through MailSprout. We don't touch your Google account; we only host the email side of your domain.
How long does the migration take?+
For one user with a few years of mail, plan on a couple of hours of background sync. We have a step-by-step guide that walks you through using imapsync's free web app to copy everything across.
What if my team needs Docs and Sheets later?+
Add Google Workspace back alongside MailSprout. They don't conflict. A lot of customers run their email through MailSprout and pay Google for Workspace Individual or stay on a single Workspace seat just for Docs and Drive.
Does MailSprout work with the Gmail mobile app?+
Yes. Open the Gmail app, tap Add account, pick Other, and paste the settings we hand you. Your MailSprout inbox shows up in the Gmail app the same way a personal Gmail account does.
What happens to my old @mybiz.com email if I switch?+
Nothing, as long as you migrate first. You move every message over before you change DNS, so you don't lose any history. If a sender emails the old address during the cutover, it gets delivered to MailSprout once DNS updates (usually within an hour, sometimes faster).
