Open Mail Settings
Open Mail. In the menu bar, click Mail then Settings (in older macOS versions this is Preferences). Click the Accounts tab.
Add an Other Mail Account
Click the + button at the bottom-left of the account list. A panel opens with logos for iCloud, Microsoft Exchange, Google, and so on. Scroll past those and pick Other Mail Account, then click Continue.
Enter your name, email, and password
Fill in:
- Name: how you want the From line to read
- Email Address: your full MailSprout address
- Password: the one from the credentials panel
Click Sign In.
Enter the server settings
The expanded form asks for incoming and outgoing details. Fill in:
- Account Type: IMAP
- Incoming Mail Server:
fusion.mxrouting.net - Outgoing Mail Server:
fusion.mxrouting.net - User Name: your full email address
- Password: pre-filled from the previous step
Click Sign In.
Pick which apps to use
Mail asks which apps you want to use with this account. Mail is checked already; leave the others off unless you also want Notes synced through this account. Click Done.
Send a test message
The new account appears in Mail's sidebar. Click New Message and send yourself a test from a different address to confirm both sending and receiving work.
Troubleshooting
"Unable to verify account name or password" loops back even after I fill in the server.
